Definition

Domain Authority (DA) is Moz's logarithmic 0-100 metric predicting how well a domain will rank in search results. Ahrefs offers Domain Rating (DR) and Semrush has Authority Score — all third-party approximations of Google's actual (and private) PageRank.

Key points

• DA is not a Google metric — don't optimize for it directly.
• Use DA/DR to compare relative strength, not as an absolute target.
